From my perspective been a born in 4th generation, with a raving psycho malignant narcissist holding away, it was pretty shit, but years latter on leaving I had the wonderful opportunity of meeting a fellow exe, and it was on comparing notes that I realised at least in my families case, there was a hell of a lot more at play as a cause of the misery in our home life. She received regular gifts and lots of love, holidays, attended large family gatherings etc...me on the other hand, didn't even get toys, led to some serious hand eye coordination issues growing up. I would say the worst aspect of been born in, was not having a control reference of "normal" and the crippling damage of knowing nothing but indoctrinated dogma suspending critical thinking.

Is a born-in brought up in a JW home like being a child inmate being raised in prison?
by Still Totally ADD ini bring up this subject because of all the restrictions children have to endure in the jw cult.
they are made prisoners of mind and body.
being forced to do things that are not natural for children to do.

Are Jehovah's Witnesses Mind Numbingly Boring To You?
by minimus ini honestly think they are the most boring people on earth!
even when they produce their so called "new light", there's no excitement.
jws just do their thing and refuse to think about their useless lives.

I still do business from time to time, due to never getting baptized, for the most part in my local area at least any way I don't mind them, as as far as paying customers go I can do a lot worse, though of late the feeling I do get when getting into a moderately in depth conversation with them about world events politics etc, and you run into the inevitable indoctrinated regurgitation of the spiel, I cant help but feel a slight pang of sorrow, like witnessing someone with a stunted or amputated personality, it can be deeply unsettling.

Which Conspiracy Theory Should You Believe?
by metatron inhttp://www.buzzfeed.com/katieheaney/which-conspiracy-theory-should-you-believe-in.
it's a quiz to help you pick a conspiracy theory that fits you.
i ended up with "moon landing was faked" which doesn't exactly apply.. .

What about the USS Liberty incident and allegations of NATO bombing Egypt during the six day war and the corresponding "accidental deaths" of various NATO pilots for a period six months after the war after going on active lock down (no personal correspondence) while the war was happening? Commonly refered to in the west as "the big lie" conspiracy theory?

Are my children in danger of being indoctrinated if I let them spend the night with their JW family?
by Butterflyleia85 inso... i'm writing because i have mixed feelings.
keeping my kids safe is my goal... until they are old enough to understand and reason on their own.
my mother gave me the tapes (that i gave her back in december) of combating mind control by steven hassan, saying that she didn't have a tape player... reminded me of three years ago when i gave her crisis of conscience by ray franz and she said it's to big book to read and she's not a reader.

To me the dangers of exposing ones children to practicing Jehovah's Witnesses are on par with exposing them to a dumbass, and hell yes they will read them the literature, many is the time the subject of articles in their publications were encouraging just that, covertly indoctrinating and manipulating children while been told NOT to by non practising or "worldly" parents friends and guardians.
im not saying don't let your kids see grandma, but don't leave them unsupervised and I certainly would nt make a habit of regular unsupervised over night stays.
